Dan provided accounting, consulting and tax services to small and medium sized business, individuals and non-profit organizations throughout the Greater Philadelphia area for more than 25 years. As founder of the Ruotolo, Spewak & Co. his two decades of experience has led to a skilled reputation in this sector and long-standing client relationships.
In addition to serving the accounting needs of the small business community and individuals, Dan’s extensive experience in management information systems. He provided consulting and training services to assist organizations in improving their financial and operational management and efficiencies. Dan was a certified trainer and has provided numerous seminars on financial and management topics to peers and the public.
Dan’s efforts within the non-profit sector extend beyond his accounting practice. His passion in being a social entrepreneur and strong supporter of community work, receiving the Non-Profit Service Professional of the Year 2014 by the Non-Profit Development Center. Most recently, he was given the first-ever Medal of Excellence for Distinguished Service award from Rowan University in May 2015. Dan was the founder and chairman of Student Working Professionals, a nonprofit organization founded on the core principals of Socialpreneurship advancement and a Pay-It-Forward approach. Further, he was actively participating on several boards, including the Rowan University Accounting Advisory Board, Burlington County and Gloucester County Workforce Development Boards, Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce and others.
Dan graduated from Rutgers University having received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with high honors. He continued his education and earned his Master’s degree in Taxation from Temple University. Dan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of CPAs and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also celebrated his 10-year membership with the Union League of Philadelphia in 2017.
